  • Greetings!
The first bell (which indicates the start of the school day) rings at 7:55 a.m.  The second bell (which indicates the start of classes) rings at 8:00 a.m.  By the time this second bell rings, students should be in their classrooms ready to learn.
Daily announcements are made over the intercom at 8:05 a.m.  The breakfast program begins at 7:30 a.m.  Since adult supervision of students begins at this time, we ask parents/guardians not to drop their children off at school prior to 7:30 a.m.
  • Welcome back, Families This letter is to introduce myself to you and also provide you with some information about our school, so that everyone may begin what we hope will be a happy ...

Things to note !!

We are a peanut/tree nut free school.

We need your help to make our school peanut/tree nut free. Please do not send to school food containing peanut butter, tree nut butter, or nuts. Please remind your children that eating on the bus and sharing food in the cafeteria or at snack are not allowed because doing so can and will make other children very sick. Please also check with your children’s classroom teachers about possible food allergies among their students before bringing food to school. The library, which is also used for Music and Art classes, is a food-free area. For more information, please refer to the Leicester Central School Student Handbook, which will be distributed to students on the first day of school.

LCS Treehouses are now off limits

We are in the process of making improvements to our playground to make it a fun and safe place for children. The recently-constructed tree houses in the wooded area near the playground are not compliant with a safety audit which was completed this summer. Rather than removing the tree houses, we are working to bring them into compliance with safety regulations. In the meantime, please consider the tree houses off limits. We will notify students of this and ask you to remind them, too.

OVUU School Choice

Dear Parents and Guardians

The Otter Valley Unified Union School District has opened up elementary school choice within the 5 schools in the district starting in August 2017. To apply for another school, please fill out the application form and read the FAQs about the process. First consideration will be given to applications in by March 17, 2017. Capacity of the requested school and grade will be the primary factor in consideration, as noted in the policy. There are printed forms in the school office.
