On Monday, April 7, 2014 Neshobe School hosted the 15th Annual DCF Challenge.  Several of our students are to be congratulated for qualifying themselves to attend.  Livia Bernhardt read 8 books and Kinsey Moyer read 9 books from the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award list.  They were rewarded with some activities to choose team names and decorated a t-shirt in their team’s colors.  Jo Knowles, author of See You At Harry’s,  presented an interactive workshop on how to write a book.  Then, they enjoyed ice cream sundaes with their lunch.  The girls represented our school in an admirable manner and brought home some nice gifts.

In the afternoon four other Leicester students, having read five books, were able to be part of the audience and hear Jo Knowles speak about her own writing experiences.  Then, they had the opportunity to answer questions to earn prizes.  They were Josie LaRock, Ian Ouellette, Fraser Pierpont and Nichole Racine.  Copies of the 2014-15 DCF Book List are available for anyone who wants a head start on qualifying for next year’s Challenge.
