Counseling Services of Addison County (CSAC):

We now have CSAC as a part time member of our crew77. Adriana Lara is a school based clinician that works for the Counseling Services of Addison County. Her role will include offering one-on-one therapy for students, offering support in classroom management, and mental health consultation with staff.

She completed her Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont. She uses a variety of interventions in her work but primarily comes from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lens. CBT is a structured, brief therapy that is directed towards solving problems through identification of instrusive thoughts. CBT examines one’s beliefs about self, others, and the world to understand the core beliefs that inform thinking and behavior. Play and expressive activities are worked into her work as well.

We also have David Thompson on our staff in a part time role. David is a board certified Behavior Analyst for Counseling Services of Addison County. His typical role is to create programming to support socially significant behaviors in school settings. Using Applied Behavior Analusis  (ABA), he designs behavioral support strategies to increase positive behaviors and train school staff’s capacity.

David graduated from St. Michael’s College majoring in Sociology and Anthropology which led to his graduate studies at Johnson State College focusing on Children’s mental Health and Applied Behavioral Analysis.
